AEC Services in Summary

Our ability to integrate specialist knowledge across areas of expertise is highly values by our clients. AEC is currently segmented into three main business streams - Archaeology and Cultural Heritage, the Environment and Consultancy Services (which incorporates Planning and Development).

We not only advise on the most appropriate mitigation strategy to use during the design and implementation of development proposals, but can also undertake a variety of assessments and evaluations in order to meet the requirements of the planning order.

AEC fulfills a number of key criteria during each project. These include:

  • The completion of fieldwork and reports within agreed deadlines and budgets;

  • Working in close co-operation with clients and always abiding by their instructions;

  • Keeping clients informed of progress and respecting their need for confidentiality; and

  • Operating to relevant standards, guidelines and within the Code of Conduct of the Institute of Field Archaeologists (IFA) and the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).

Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Services 

AEC provides a range of archaeological services to our clients (including desk-based assessments, field evaluations and excavations). Our input from the site acquisition or project scoping stage of a potential development can ensure that unexpected delays and extra costs are avoided. AEC specialises in the production of Archaeological and Cultural Heritage Impact Assessments for incorporation within Environmental Statements and Environmental Reports.

Environmental Services 

AEC believe that it is imperative to address environmental issues in an effective and transparent manner, following the legal guidelines and frameworks set out in the relevant regulations and guidance. We provide specialist support to enable our clients to better manage the environmental issues associated with their operations, and have extensive capability in a wide variaty of environmental planning and development projects.

Consultancy

AEC offers a number of consultancy services to support our clients during the planning process. This is particularly beneficial during the site acquisition and pre-determination stages of the planning process, as it is of the utmost importance to have a clear understanding of the nature of each development and the environmental setting in order to identify any future risks. At AEC, we understand what is required in terms of seeking opportunities for environmental gain as well as identifying adverse impacts through appropriate solutions and mitigation.
